We’ve Been Working On Our Website!

Posted on September 5, 2008 | Blog Home Page

Hi Everyone,

So, it has been a while since I last posted - I thought it was time for a quick update. Along with editing photographs, albums, attending professional photographer meetings and the such - we’ve also been extremely busy creating the next version of our site. We’re so excited about the changes!

First off, we’re adding in a new feature to our portfolio that we LOVE! We’re adding in “The Story” for every photograph in our portfolio (and adding on nearly 100 photographs if not more). The story would be similar to what I wrote for Lee and Melody. Each photograph (or at least one present if there are more than one) will have the story behind the shot - why it is important, who is in the shot, why we would show you this shot. The idea is that you can really connect with the photograph on a much deeper level - that you can really understand the moment you’re seeing. You’ll also get to know a bit more about why we are wedding photographers and why we love it so much.  We can’t wait for this feature to go live. Keep an eye on the site - it should go live within the next several days!

Secondly, Videos!!! We’re adding videos to our site almost anywhere there is text. This will be especially seen in the Investment section. Rather than just text describing the product, we’ll actually show you the product and talk about it. We’re recording the videos over the next few days, and then editing, and then embedding … it is quite a time-consuming process. But, it is well worth it. You’ll have a firm idea of everything we do and everything we offer. It’ll be great!

Lastly, we’re adding in a Splash Page. If you’ve seen our business cards, it looks almost identical to the front of the card. This Splash page is covering a few little technical notes. First, there will be a low-bandwidth option. This will take you to a version of the site that does not have all of the videos and skips the front slideshow. We know, the slideshow is huge, we’re working on it … actually, that leads me to the next reason. The splash page will actually re-direct you to a version of our website that best fits your screen! We’re officially making five different versions of the website at different resolutions - you’ll be routed to the one that best fits your screen. This will not only make it look the very best on your computer but also make it as small (Mb-wise) as possible. Aka, you’ll be routed to what looks the best for you AND the site will take less time to download! Wahoo!

So, we’ve been a bit busy. We’re doing all the coding ourselves - it can be time consuming, but we’re convinced to have our website reflect us exactly. I can’t wait for the changes! Keep an eye out - they’ll all be coming as quickly as possible!

Jessica and Nick’s Wedding! August 16, 2008 | Bell Buckle, TN

Posted on August 19, 2008 | Blog Home Page

Hi Everyone!!

Anna and I had a blast this past weekend at Jessica & Nick’s wedding. Their group of family & friends are just pure fun to be around. The wedding took place near Bell Buckle, TN (also, Wartrace … between Chattanooga and Nashville). The day went off without a problem - it weather stayed absolutely beautiful well into the night. Hillary with Brocade Design Arts really helped with making everything come out perfectly!

If you’d like to be notified as soon as all of the photographs are available for purchase at Pictage. Please fill out the information on Pictage here. Also, if you’d like to see their engagement photographs - please visit pictage here.

Enjoy the slideshow!

One quick note, as always, we kindly request that you not upload any of these photographs to flikr, myspace, etc. Here’s the reason we ask this. If you’d like to put this slideshow on your facebook account, just look me up facebook - look up spencer.clark@annaandspencer.com

This is Nick just before Jessica came down the aisle. He was extremely happy (as was everyone else!)

The photograph below is one of the moments I don’t believe I’ll ever forget. Jessica’s vows were absolutely touching. Jessica’s and Nick’s both really. I (Spencer) really couldn’t even see so well at this point … a tear was caught in my own eye.  To be present during their ceremony was to see love itself.

Hillary with Brocade Designs Art noticed a sunset around the corner. We were behind some trees earlier and couldn’t see it! We’re so glad she came over and got us over there!

A final shot from the night. Anna got this one using the steady string (no tripod - craziness!). It was an absolutely beautiful night with a wonderful wedding going on below.

Wilson and Kristi Engagement Session | Savannah Engagement

Posted on August 13, 2008 | Blog Home Page

Hi Everyone! Anna and I had a great time photographing Wilson and Kristi this past weekend! The day turned out perfectly - nice and sunny but not too hot (ok, it was hot). We started off the shoot in Forsyth Park and then moved on to the River Street area. We actually hadn’t shot at River Street.

It turned out to be a wonderful day & shoot. We really got a chance to know Kristi and Wilson … we can’t wait for their wedding! They’ve been dating for 8 years!

If you’d like to purchase or print any of the photographs from their engagement session, please head over to Pictage.

The Quiet Moment

Posted on August 6, 2008 | Blog Home Page

We’ve been working on photographs today and I just had to share my thought on this photograph of Lee and Melody.

A wedding day is very busy - ok, extremely busy. It can sometimes even be hectic. However, even among all the people, all of the celebration, true love still comes through. You see, to me, true love isn’t something that screams out loud (though, at times it can). Though it is always easy and clear to see, it is often times quiet and can be missed if one isn’t paying attention.

And then, for brief moments in the wedding day, the silent love comes through in a way … almost unexpected. It is the brief pause - the deep sigh - the thought that is at the very core of the bride and groom. “we’re getting married today” “I’m marrying my love today” …. “we’re married” … “we’re actually married.” In that moment, in that pause, in that sigh of joy, comes through the true feeling of the day - and the real reason a wedding is such a special event. It is the great love that the couple shares which makes the day so unforgettable. For us to be witness to such love and emotion is simply wonderful and inspiring.

Here is one of those moments with Lee and Melody. This shot happened during their first dance - really, the dance was impromptu and unplanned. There was music playing in the background, they had taken a step away from their guests for a moment, and just started dancing together. This is one of their small, quiet moments of true love.

Bridal Show a Success and our New Website is Live!

Posted on August 6, 2008 | Blog Home Page

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say that Anna and I had a great time at the Cobb Galleria bridal show on Sunday. We had a chance to meet a lot of great people! The show itself went really well with definitely over 500 brides attending.

Also, we decided to go ahead and take our new website live on Sunday evening. While we definitely have some kinks to work out and some finishing touches as well, we feel it is still a step above our previous website. Also, with our new pricing calculator on the site, potential clients can easily determine their pricing - a question many couples asked at the bridal show. So, enjoy the new site! Expect a good bit of changes over the next week. :)

Day 4: Creating Our New Website!

Posted on August 1, 2008 | Blog Home Page

Hi Everyone!

Wow, creating this site has been crazy. I’m having to learn a few new tricks to get everything to run smoothly. I think the site will be ready by late today or early tomorrow … if all goes as planned.

Alpha 11: I have two updates. Yesterday a good bit of my time was spent creating a custom portfolio. I know, others already exist in Flash … but this way we won’t ever have to worry about copyright or giving credit. And, as a bonus, I made it very very easy for me to go in and change photographs - all I have to do is upload a new one and it’s set!

I’ve also been working a good bit on the Investment page. The next version should have a near fully functional investment page. Once it’s done, the site will officially be in beta phase - it’ll be a fully functional site! Wahoo! Then all I need to do is actually select which photographs to use where and maybe change some text a little.

Day 2: Creating Our New Website!

Posted on July 30, 2008 | Blog Home Page

Hi Everyone!

It is Day Two now of assembling and coding our website. I got a good bit completed yesterday and a bit more this morning. So, now I am on to alpha version 6! We’re still missing content, but most of the pages now have unique looks and custom animations. I’m in the process of making the site as efficient as possible and then will move on to adding in content.

Also, this version now has a working contact form! Wahoo! Though, it won’t actually send an inquiry until the site is actually live.

Alpha 6:

Edit #1:
I’ve finished making the site more efficient and have started on creating the correct pages. So far, the Book Us page and the Biography page are near completion. I’m not sure if we’ll stick with the text on the Biography page - nor the photographs. However, those can be easily changed. Click the Video Button! It works just like I wanted it to! Wahoo! (I actually had to look up a few new ways to code it so that it would work correctly) We’ll be using this feature in many of the pages to allow the viewer to have an easier time on our site while still getting all the information they’re looking for.

Edit #2:
The Accolades section is finished! Though, I’m waiting on two videos for it.
