We’re starting up daily photography tips and techniques … by video! Basically, we’ll be sharing what we do to get the images that we get. Yay! We’re really excited about this! Please, by all means, leave comments asking questions – we’ll be sure to answer.
To show some examples of aperture:

This image was taken at an aperture of 1.2 – notice how much of the background is out of focus.

This shot above was taken with our wireless camera at an aperture of about 5.6. Notice the in-focus background. It was a -very- bright day here – so, even at 5.6 (or an aperture of 16) there was plenty of light to be had.

I love the shot of Ashley’s veil! Do you remember what f stop you used and what your ISO setting was to capture this? Since you have said you like shooting in AV mode, I’m assuming it was in that mode.
Hi Lisa! Hmm, for that shot, it was most likely at f2.8. And, most likely taken in AV mode with +1 or +2 compensation as I would have been metering on white.
