Sébastien and I fell on Anna & Spencer photography by chance, and I mean by complete chance. We were contacted by another couple who had already booked Anna & Spencer for their wedding on May 9th in Punta Cana. The couple told us to go see Anna & Spencer’s website to see some of their work. We fell IN LOVE with their work. However, we were certain we couldn’t afford Destination Wedding Photographers and had all but made up our minds on going with the resort photographers. We brainstormed back and forth to decide what we were going to do.. go with the resort photographers that take the exact same photos for each wedding (just that the bride & groom change)…. or go with Anna & Spencer and get some AMAZING photographs. We read somewhere something that truely marked us… “You’ll never wear your dress/suit again, your flowers die, your cake gets eaten… but your photographs will last forever.” When we read this.. our minds were made up and we decided to contact Anna & Spencer.
Anna & Spencer had a wedding to shoot on May 4th, and couldn’t be in Punta Cana before 3:30pm on May 5th (the day we were getting married). So right off the bat we knew that they couldn’t be there for the wedding since we were getting married at 4:00pm. Instead of worrying whether they would make it on time or not.. we just decided it would be best to not count on them for that day, but to book a Trash The Dress session with them on May 8th.
Anna & Spencer were kind enough to look through the types of photos we liked… to give them a feel of the sort of photos we like. We emailed each other back and forth which gave us an opportunity to really get to know each other.
Wednesday April 30th Spencer emailed us to tell us that Anna & him were going to do everything possible to make it to our wedding on May 5th! Sébastien and I were sooooo HAPPY!!! Their flight got moved down an hour and we decided to change the ceremony for 4:30 to give them that much more time.
On the day of the wedding as planned.. Anna & Spencer arrived with about 45-60 minutes to spare before the ceremony. They took a few photos of me in my parents’ room. And then they went to the ceremony site to take pictures of the setup before people arrived. We loved how you couldn’t even tell they were there taking photos. They were in the background taking photos of ”real moments”. They captured the day BEAUTIFULLY!! They set up a slideshow of some photos they took of the ceremony during the reception. We were amazed on how beautiful each photo was.
They came back on May 8th to the the Trash the Dress. We had such a GREAT time! They took some awesome photos… and they had some amazing ideas. Spencer even convinced us to take some photos in some cup fountains that were at the resort… and we are SO happy he did!!
Anna & Spencer are such friendly and fun people. We absolutely adored every single moment we spent with them. Their work speaks for itself…. AMAZING!!
Please take a moment to see the two slideshows Anna & Spencer made for us:
